If you love Beatles music played the way the Fab Four intended, then The Dung Beatles are for you. According to Terry Bloxham of The British Beatles Fan Club, “The Dung Beatles are pure unadulterated fun….definitely not your average Beatles tribute band”.
Since they formed in early 2013 The Dung Beatles have played extensively at festivals, theatres, clubs, corporate and private events. In 2014 they performed at Liverpool’s world famous “Cavern Club”. In 2015 they were the closing act on the main stage at the Cambridge “Trinity Hall June Event 2015”, playing to a packed house of over one thousand students, on the same bill as Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac. In 2016 and 2017 they performed to full house audiences at Thame’s Players Theatre, Aylesbury’s Limelight Theatre and The Elgiva Theatre Chesham.
In February 2017 they gave an exclusive performance of Beatles classics at celebrity charity event “Highgate Has Heart”, supporting refugee appeals and featuring special guests Ruby Wax and Juliet Stevenson. In June 2017 they were guests on Mike Naylor’s Saturday mid-day show on BBC 3CR radio, celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the release of the ground breaking “Sgt Pepper’s” album with the recording of a seven song tribute accompanied by horn section and piano.
Recently they performed to a full house at The Waterside Theatre Aylesbury, along with pop legends John Otway, Howard Jones and Marillion, in support of the Friars Club tribute to David Bowie and the unveiling of his statue in Market Square, conceived and implemented by the founder of Friars, David Stopps.
